BENEDICT'S STORY

Sophie Beckett never dreamed she'd be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton's famed masquerade ball—or that she would be spinning in the arms of her "Prince Charming"—the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton. But when the clock strikes midnight, Sophie’s enchanting evening ends. Since that night Benedict has been able to think of nothing but the bewitching young woman, and he’s sworn to find and wed his mystery miss. Yet will another unexpectedly steal his heart—and his chance for a fairy tale love?

Yes it’s basically a Cinderella story but with some twists and turns. I love their playful banter. Benedict is flirty and debonair. You can really feel his character. A Cinderella story can really happen in real life. It happened for me and my husband.

I almost skipped this book because I figured it was just Cinderella and I’ve heard that story a thousand times. And while yes, this was a Cinderella retelling, it did still feel like its own story in a way. Probably about half way through it stops feeling like Cinderella and starts feeling like a Bridgerton novel again. I fell in love with Sophie though, I loved her story. This book was really really good.
  • Didn’t think I’d like it, but I loved it.

Benedict was my least favorite out of the 3 eldest brothers. Thought he lacked luster. But this book showed me everything great about him. Great re-telling of Cinderella with a twist. Loved how his family got involved at the end.
  • Cinderella?

Confused if I was reading a bridgerton book or Cinderella, honestly. It was way too close to the original tale. Horrible step mom that is forced to look after her, father dies while she’s young, horrible two step sisters, one is secretly nice. She longs to be more then the house maid and falls for the ‘prince’ the stepmom wants the other girls to marry. It is literally taken directly out of disneys script…? All the way to the midnight deadline, leaving behind a piece of clothing he can use to find her and the “prince” falling in love her at first sight at the ball. Going outside to dance too. Just more sexual lol Just confused who missed that while edited the book. Could’ve made it ever so slightly different. A Step brother? One sibling instead? Dad dies later? Literally anything. I’m waiting for the mice and birds to come help her make the dress for the bridgerton ball any moment..

This Was such a fun read it was very emotional at times, and Sophie and Benedict story is truly as romantic as it could be. In this story, you will find yourself crying and yelling, as if you are experiencing it on your own. I love all the other characters in this book too! lady Bridgerton showed again, just how much her children’s happiness means to her and Posys story is the perfect way to end this book. 💓💓💓
