Description

Book Four in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling Rose Gardner Mystery Series.

While Rose recovers from a broken heart, she finds herself at odds with her sister—and business partner—Violet. Rose buries herself in her landscaping work, but becomes worried when her employee and friend, Bruce Wayne Decker, goes missing.

In the meantime, Fenton County assistant D.A., Mason Deveraux has been patiently waiting to begin a relationship with Rose, but she realizes she needs to confront the demons of her past before she can embrace a new future. She needs to find out the truth about her birth mother.

But her past isn’t her only demon. An undercurrent of tension has been spreading through Henryetta, Arkansas since drug lord, Daniel Crocker’s arrest six months ago. Still, she’s not prepared for a nightmare come true: Crocker’s escape from prison. Crocker carries a grudge and he’s determined to make Rose pay, but he plays a game of cat and mouse, forcing Mason and the Fenton County Sheriff’s department to hide Rose on her birth mother’s farm. But will it be enough to save her?

I have read all of these books and they are great!! The only reason I rated this one lower has more to do with my opinion. I like Rose to be more of a warrior. In this book she just seemed more timid and emotional. But, I am on to read the next one!

This series is just amazing. I am so in love with the books and the authors writing style and storytelling abilities. I find myself immersed in the pages and cannot put the book down! In this installment we learn more about Rose’s mother and her farm which is just a beautiful addition to the storyline. We see Rose go from heartbreak to a new romance which is adorably cute. We see a side of Violet that makes us all hate her a bit (or maybe just me). I think it’s wonderful how Denise creates these mysteries and storylines that line up and flow together but are still completely different. I never know how the story is going to unfold!

Another thrilling installment… Rose is still recovering from the break-up with her first love, but she has developed quite a support system that is ready to step in and help her. Her life is in danger at various times during the course of the novel, and the action is riveting. From the first page, I couldn't put this book down. I have truly loved seeing Rose develop as a character and her as her confidence grows throughout the series, I seem to adore her more and more. I cant wait for the next book!

This series get's better with each story. I love to see characters grow throughout a series, to learn from their mistakes, take more control of their lives and this series does it to perfection. With each problem or issue a character has to deal with changes who they are for the better or the worse. in 31 Rose is still dealing with her breakup with Joe. While she still loves him, she knows that she has to start moving on with her life and she starts to do that with the help of her friends. As she begins o take the steps to possible dating again, and old enemy returns bent on finishing the job he started in 28 and a half wishes. you will want to continue on Rose's journey. The scared shelter girl is developing into a strong capable women

These novels could so easily be repetitive, but they are not. I am equally captivated and impressed with each book and become more hooked on the series as I read.
