Description

Poppy Fields has a movie-star mother, 84 million Instagram followers, paparazzi following her every move, and a problem. Her Mexican vacation just went sideways (abducted-by-a-drug-lord sideways).

Suddenly her life resembles one of her mother's movies, except the bullets are real, people are dying, and there's no guarantee of a happy ending.

Surrounded by trained killers and unsure who she can trust, only one thing is certain—if Poppy doesn't escape, this vacation will be her last.

"Poppy Fields is in a tough spot. People are dying at a statistically significant rate after interacting with her, starting with her ex-boyfriend. Now a drug cartel is chasing her, the police have taken her passport, and that beach vacation where she was supposed to chill out has turned into a nightmare. Action, humor, great characters, and an intriguing mystery, Mulhern has packed a lot into this excellent mystery. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy!" ~ Julie Moffett, USA TODAY bestselling author of the Lexi Carmichael Mysteries

"The best book I've read this year!" ~ Gretchen Archer, USA TODAY bestselling author of the Davis Way Crime Capers

This book was suspenseful, and also funny. The way they mix fashion, and with murder was very clever. I enjoyed reading it very much.

Very well written levity even in believably dangerous situations. A plot with a path that the reader ,if alert can figure out. I totally enjoyed the writing and will love reading more !

So excited about this new series! While it started a little slow (getting her feet under her, I suppose) by the third chapter I was completely sold on the heroine Poppy Fields! A modern young lady who is quite capable of taking care of herself, who, in spite of a splintered upbringing, has a good head on her shoulders. This "first book" leads us to an anticipation of many exciting adventures with Ms Poppy and her sidekick Consuela. Cannot wait for the next book 😊
  • SENSATIONAL!

Julie Mulhern’s Fields’ Guide to Abduction (A Poppy Fields Adventure) is absolutely sensational! What a way to kick off a new series! Mulhern has created a dynamic new series that is full of excitement from start to finish. Her list of characters include those that are quirky, some that are very endearing, many that are very treacherous and then there’s the very unforgettable heroine Poppy Fields. Poppy has led an interesting life. She’s had it all but she’s missed the opportunity to have the things that are the most important needs of everyone. That makes her a perfect unwitting target for both good and evil. Poppy just wants a free trip to a friend’s resort in Mexico. What can possibly go wrong? Ask her again at the end of her trip! Who knows - she may end up being the best actress in her family, a well compensated author or being a government agent. I was provided an ARC of this book by the author. The opinions expressed here are completely my own and without influence. I have already preordered my own personal copy to add to my collection.
